Had to tick them all - too hard to choose.

Test bed for technologies needed to explore all. (The beginning). I don't stand the commercial space development without people in space. (I think it's the future).

"Inspiration for the next generation" without teaching our kids and their kids how to use their imagination I think we are lost and the human race will fade away!

All of this is important!

research about long term stay in space is about the most important activity so far or am I ill informed; however, price tag is still shockingly high

I think it's mixture of all.

Higgs Boson anyone? W.I.M.Ps? That's definately the shoreline of modern physics and the ISS is definately our boat on the dock as far as a possible means of making a breakthrough, and we may all agree that particle physics really really needs a breakthrough asap. Also, as long as Elon Musk has a target he'll hit it, he's a brilliant man with a one of a kind business, the only problem is he doesn't make destinations, he makes taxis. No destination puts the cab drivers out of luck and that would be a serious problem.

Despite not speaking English is the space mission for all of us algu importande Mainly places to search for the people that really wanted to help further research have to study hard and is something that I do!

I have recently calculated that anti matter is broken down into units and one unit of anti matter is equal to the same percentages of atoms that make up the universe i.e. mainly hydrogen etc. This is because anti matter is a singular energy therefore no other energy exists with in it. All mass in the universe is made from the anti matter therefore the anti matter is separating into mass therefore as this could not be a random act the anti matter is contentiously producing the same atoms every time per unit of anti matter. This is also why the universe is still expanding and will continue to expand, the rate that the anti matter is turning in mass has not and will not change it remains constant. One unit of anti matter is larger than the atoms that one unit produces therefore giving us the void of space for the universe. The original ball of mass commonly called the big bang was not actually a ball of mass but something completely different much like oxygen turns into carbon when burnt the original (?) was turned into mass after the burn, which is the anti matter. The void for existence for the anti matter to explode into and the original (?) is not of any physical sense. Now the facts of physics are everything needs something to exist in and an energy cannot be created or destroyed therefore by accepting these facts it is realized that a physical space (void) and a physical mass (energy) is not needed as the structure which supports it does not require it, if it did then there would be no existence at all. The truth about existence is in no way at all does it exist as we perceive it to be but rather existence exist only as information but for the information to be functional it has to have structure (Physics) by acknowledging this it is realized that the functions of existence could be altered by altering the information, the information is split into two different frequency plains inanimate and living both plains are completely entwined with any occurrence in either completely effects all of both. That’s it.

Prepare, practice, test, and validate...the technologies and techniques to place a permanent human presence on the Moon...and then on to Mars!

all is important every single project is important there is only one space station and so many questions..so much people in this planet, with different needs different point of view. NASA

Nuclear propulsion for interplantery missions from space orbit should be developed. We do it for submarines let's get going for space flights.

Test bed for future tech and commercial space go hand in hand. Waypoint #1 before L1 or L2 waypoints. Tea Party in Space (TPiS) http://www.teapartyinspace.org/?q=content/platform

This mission in itself was the most entertaing ever. It seemed that everybody was on a gun ho mission because it was the last mission for the space shuttle. The crew was hilarious ! They were working hard but they were playing hard as well. All they was a disco ball and Big G doing a head spin!

Why have we been restricting astronauts to such short missions on the space station? Shouldn't we be trying out 3 year missions if we're serious about going to Mars?

Hard to choose. 'Inspiration...' contributes to imagining and creating a better future.
rockylindposted 458 days ago
If forced to single out one, it would be "test bed." I believe in Exploration and ISS is the stepping stone for testing and proving capability (both human and hardware) we will need as we venture into the solar system.

With that said every one of all these missions are important and relevant.

Although all answers are valid and positive for the future of humankind, science and spaceflight, the ISS' main objective and purpose is as a test bed for science that can benefit the folks back on Earth (such as the cure for cancer - crystal growth) as well as studying the effects of being in space for longer periods of time (muscle atrophy, bone loss and cardio-vascular problems especially) with the intent to go beyond low Earth orbit and explore our solar system by the mid 2030's. The other options/answers are just normal byproducts of such a mission.

Would like to see additional modules added to the ISS---perhaps automated systems could be sent and be connected to existing modules of the ISS
